Winter vomiting bug closes a third Ninewells Hospital ward to new admissions

A third ward has closed to new admissions at Ninewells Hospital following a suspected outbreak of the winter vomiting bug, also known as the norovirus.

• Winter vomiting bug affecting two Ninewells Hospital wards

Several cases of vomiting and diarrhoea have been reported at ward five, which is the latest closure to hit the hospital this week.

On Monday NHS Tayside announced it was not accepting new patients in ward six after similar reports, and it was followed the next day with the closure of ward 14.
