The 1818 minute book was donated after the golf clubs in Montrose amalgamated.
The archive is holding a drop-in day on Thursday when it will concentrate on Sporting Angus, giving people access to a number of sport-related documents, including photographs of teams and individuals involved in sports such as football, rugby, golf, cricket, cycling and tennis.
Archivist Craig Pearson said, "With the Women's Open golf coming up next week (at Carnoustie) and the Open just past, we thought there would be a lot of interest in putting on a sport display."
Many people use the archives when investigating their family history and individuals can access particular stored documents on request but, in addition, the archive mounts specific displays at particular times.
Among items will be a Brechin Cricket Club scorebook, 1850-1914.
Mr Pearson said neither the Montrose minute book nor the Brechin scorebook were of significant monetary value — their value is in the information they hold.
The open day runs from 10am to 4pm.
