Crannog crew bring ancient crafts to town
Inspired by the excavation and study of the 3000-year-old Carpow logboat from the Tay, archaeologists from Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust hosted a prehistoric crafts weekend.

Making The Bronze Age was held at Riverside Park in Perth, offering members of public the rare opportunity to see ancient craft-working in action before having a go themselves.
Demonstrations included bronze sword casting, ancient wood-working and the making and firing of prehistoric pottery.
Craft specialists from across the country took part.
Following the success of the Loch Tay logboat, made by volunteers using replica bronze age tools last August, a highlight was the return of ancient wood-working specialist Damien Goodburn, who created a replica of the famous iron age figurine from Ballachulish.
