Young visitors relished the chance to meet them and learn about the times in Pictish Angus — with a chance to try their uniforms, weapons and favourite games.

It was also a chance to enter the Angus Pictish Trail photo competition, with pictures of any Pictish site or artefact in Angus eligible.

Winning entries will be displayed in the centre.

Prints can be handed in to Pictavia and digital copies can be emailed to pictavia@angus.gov.uk.

The closing date for entries is Friday, August 6.
