Scotland will take on England at Dundee Rep this morning. Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Ireland, Singapore and South Africa complete the list of nations still in the event, with debates taking place at venues around the city, including the Frigate Unicorn and Discovery Point.

It will be a hectic day for the participants, with the winners set to take part in the semi-finals this afternoon.

Irene McGrath chairs the Scottish Schools International Debating Council. She said: "It's certainly been an incredibly exciting championship so far, with first class debating skills on display.

"This all bodes well for the quarter-finals, where the eight remaining teams will again have their skill, knowledge and teamwork put to the test with an hour to prepare the motion."
