Betty Dewar, who died in 2007, spent over three decades as a respiratory nurse at King's Cross and Maryfield hospitals.

Former colleague Glenda Charlton, who lives in Canada, came up with the idea of a memorial bench to pay tribute to her friend during a visit to Scotland last September.

The plan received the backing of many colleagues, who donated money to fund the project.

The bench now sits outside the chest clinic in Ninewells Hospital.
