Regarded as Stephen Sondheim's greatest work, the story of the demon barber of Fleet Street boasts an exceptional score, a gripping story and unforgettable characters.
The show sees Rep director James Brining reunited with musical director Hilary Brooks, who worked on Dundee Rep Ensemble's musicals Sunshine On Leith and Cabaret.
This production is the most ambitious musical so far undertaken by the Rep, with its cast of 16 and its nine-piece orchestra.
Sweeney Todd (David Birrell) is gripped with revenge when he returns to the streets of London, and he embarks upon a murderous campaign to right the wrongs he and his family endured at the hands of the corrupt Judge Turpin (Robert Paterson), and is aided by pie-shop owner Mrs Lovett (Ann Louise Ross) and a notorious partnership is cemented.
The barber shop will be open for business from May 19 to June 12.
Tickets are available at Dundee Rep box office by calling 01382 223530 or by visiting www.dundeerep.co.uk.
