Mr Scott was the first Englishman to climb Everest in 1975 alongside Scottish mountaineer Dougal Haston.

Mr Scott's talk will include the story of his and Bonington's climb up the Ogre in Pakistan in 1977 when, after breaking both legs in a fall, he had to descend on all fours.

Tickets for the lecture cost £15 for adults and £12 for concessions and are available from the box office on 01592 583302.

All proceeds will go to Community Action Nepal and the Nilupul Foundation.
