Michael Clark (23), of North Grimsby, Arbroath, admitted possession of the offensive weapons at the town's Gravesend on March 27.

Arbroath Sheriff Court on Monday heard Clark had been involved in an altercation with two men in a smoking area outside the nightclub, before being asked to leave.

He returned around 15 minutes later shouting "Come on...I will have you all now."

Depute fiscal Jill Drummond said Clark then produced the knives and approached the door of the nightclub before a struggle ensued and the police were called.

Clark's agent said his client was aware he had a problem with alcohol.

Sheriff Derek Pyle also ordered forfeiture of both knives.
