Barry garden design company Rococo's show garden, a miller's garden inspired by Barry Mill, won a silver medal and proved a big draw not just because it was beautiful but also because of the two piglets which were part of the display.
Husband and wife team Steve and Nicky Burke were inspired to design the garden by the old Scottish saying "the miller's pig is ay best fed", and the piglets, which were borrowed from Hatton Farm at Carnoustie, were certainly well looked after during their starring performance at the three-day festival which attracted a record 25,000 visitors.
Rococo ran a name the piglet competition during the festival and Steve and Nicky now have many names to choose from as suggested by the crowds who flocked to the garden.
Further suggestions would be welcome and can be emailed to sales@roceco.co.uk.
The hairy porkers are settling back into the more mundane life at Hatton Farm having enjoyed their starring role in a successful weekend at the festival.
Steve said on Tuesday, "As well as Hatton Farm, we'd also like to thank both Peter Ellis at Barry Mill for his advice and props, and also Barry's Cotside Quarry, who provided material for the display garden."
