Arbroath woman Agnes Ferrier dies one month after being hit by car
A 78-year-old Arbroath woman, who sustained severe injuries when was involved in a collision with a car in the town's East Muirlands Road on August 18, has died in Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

Although initially said to be in a critical condition with a shattered pelvis and internal bleeding, Mrs Agnes Ferrier of Annfield Drive had made good progress after surgery.
Her son Jake, a former coach with Arbroath FC, said yesterday, "I think it was just a bridge too far for her at the end. She fought for a whole month but, in the end, I think infection just got the better of her.
"When she was first taken to hospital we were warned to prepare ourselves for the worst but, as time went on and she was stable enough to undergo surgery for her abdominal injuries, we were able to hope she could pull through.
"I went to visit her on Tuesday evening and she was the best she had been since the accident. She had been able to take some yoghurt and soup orally rather than being fed through a tube and was really quite responsive.
"She must have gone downhill quite fast after that because on Wednesday night we were called in and told that she hadn't long to go."
He added, "I can't fault the care she received at Ninewells and my heart actually goes out to the dedicated staff there who did everything they could for her."
A police spokesman said although there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding Mrs Ferrier's injury and death, a report would be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
