Safedoor Scotland, based at Friarton Bridge Park, said it has ambitious plans to double this number over the coming years.
The company said most of the jobs created had been filled by local people.
The franchise has been set up and managed by two former employees of window and door maker Sidey — Chris Connelly and Rhod Hindmarch. Between them they have more than 40 years' experience in the window and door industry.
Mr Connelly said, "Rhod and I decided to establish the Scottish branch of the Safedoor network because it is a unique opportunity in the composite door market.
"It brings the manufacturing and production of composite doors closer to installers, eliminating the problems associated with national suppliers, for example long lead times or delivery delays.
"If you look at the market, composite doors remain a beacon of opportunity for the window and door industry for 2010 and beyond.
"Safedoor Scotland customers will get the standard of quality normally expected from a large national supplier but, with the doors being manufactured and delivered locally, it means shorter lead times for our customers and we can offer a more personalised service because contact and communication is better — we believe that's a great springboard to a growing market.
"We are delighted that over a dozen jobs have been created and believe that in the coming years the company will continue on a programme of sustainable and controlled growth, creating more employment opportunities in Scotland."
