Mrs Ross (57) could face being struck off if it is decided that her conduct has fallen short of that expected of a teacher.

She was suspended from her job at Sidlaw View Primary School in 2007 after her husband Vic raised concerns about alleged violence in the school.

An independent panel found that the allegations were exaggerated but Mrs Ross was allowed to return to work and was appointed depute head of Longhaugh Primary School.

In June 2008 she was suspended for a second time and was fired for gross misconduct four months later.

An appeal the following February upheld Dundee City Council's decision to dismiss her.

The content of websites operated by Mr Ross was one of the issues that is understood to have led to his wife's dismissal and the subsequent complaint to the GTC by the council.

She has taken her unfair dismissal case to an employment tribunal, which heard last month that, though Mr Ross was the registered owner of the website, Mrs Ross's name was linked because he had used her credit card to register it.

That case is expected to resume in January and her hearing before the GTC has been set down for February 24.
