Dunfermline Live! is a week of almost non-stop entertainment amid the Christmas shopping fever.

Running from until November 21, the event features a great line-up of musical entertainment, food, cooking, wine, dance, art, craft and celebration.

Cellist Julian Lloyd Webber performs at the Carnegie Hall on Sunday, while Christmas with the Rat Pack and the Glenn Miller Orchestra are both on at the Alhambra Theatre on November 19 and 21 respectively.

The Moscow Ballet stages The Nutcracker at the Alhambra on November 20.

Children will have plenty to do as well with a daily art workshop in the Kingsgate Centre and on Saturday, November 20, at the Glen Gates.

From then it is Christmas all the way with Santa in his grotto and then leading the parade on November 21 to switch on the Christmas lights.

Susan Hughes, chief executive of Dunfermline Delivers, which is organising the festival, said, "We are really excited about Dunfermline Live! because it will add such a great atmosphere to the city centre and showcase local businesses.

"It promises to be a big attraction to Dunfermline and we are very grateful to the support from Celebrating Fife in helping us to stage the programme."
