Traditional music fans flock to Dougie MacLean's Perthshire Amber festival

First launched by local musician Dougie MacLean seven years ago, this year's event is expected to attract up to 7,000 people and the Caledonia star will begin proceedings with a concert at Edradour Distillery in Pitlochry alongside Emily Smith.
Over the next 10 days the air around Perthshire will be filled with the sound of fiddles, guitars, accordions, bagpipes, whistles and vocals, with venues ranging from village halls to castles.
Although some of the concerts are either sold out or close to capacity there are still a few tickets available, as well as a wide variety of free events to choose from.
Among the events which still have spaces left are a performance by Dougie and traditional Irish band Beoga at Blairgowrie town hall on Saturday and the Village Hall concerts at Clunie, Meikleour and Caputh on Sunday featuring a host of musicians.
Perth Concert Hall will also be hosting two concerts on November 4 and 5, which will see MacLean take to the stage with a range of people, including the Perthshire Ensemble, Phil Cunningham, Kris Drever and the Tayside Police Choir.
There is an outdoor element to the festival this year, with a calendar of events running alongside the music line-up including shinty, a mountain safari and a Highland horse trek.
An opening celebration will be held in Dunkeld on Saturday with a procession through the streets from 11am.
