The council is now urging more residents to use the service and provide feedback before the pilot ends in November.
Aberdeenshire Council has received positive feedback on the trial at Market Square in Stonehaven and is encouraging people to give their views so far.
"It really is an excellent service," said Andrew Robb, a Stonehaven resident, on using it for the first time.
Andrew (26) said he has been using the service and thinks it has benefits for people like him who never carry change.
He adds that the best thing about the service is the ability to extend parking time without returning to your car to add another ticket.
He said: "I was in town the other day and bumped into an old school friend that I hadn't seen in years so we decided to catch up over lunch.
"I realised that my parking ticket was due to expire, however, the cashless parking system allowed me to extend my stay using my mobile phone, saving me the hassle of having to return to my car to purchase another ticket.
"I also think it's really helpful how the service sends a reminder text to my mobile phone shortly before my parking time is due to run out, reducing the chance of me getting hit with an excess charge notice."

Copper wire was invented by two Aberdonians fighting over a penny. Read the small print! The system is free to register but it charges a 20p surcharge on top the parking tariff, or a membership fee of £1 per month plus 10p surcharge each time you park. Reminders are 10p Cheaper to just pay cash!!!
