Midfielder Mark Kerr left East End Park on crutches following Saturday's 4-1 loss to Rangers after damaging ankle ligaments as a result of a tackle from opponent Steven Davis — a challenge that earned the Ibrox man a booking.

Kerr initially tried to play on but eventually had to hobble off after 65 minutes.

He went to hospital for an X-ray on his ankle and will be further assessed by the club's medical staff this morning.

The Pars fear they could be without their transfer window signing during a key part of the campaign.

Manager Jim McIntyre said: ''It looks like ligament damage but it is perhaps too early to tell just how long Mark will be out.''
