He was stretchered off late on during Rovers' 5-3 2009-10 Reserve League Cup Final defeat by Dunfermline at Stark's Park on Tuesday night, and an X-ray has confirmed he's broken his ankle.
Now Hill, who scored the opener in the game, faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
A first-team regular last season after signing from Alloa, he's found himself mainly on the bench so far this term, but the loss of such an experienced player is a blow for manager John McGlynn who only has a small squad at his disposal.
