The new app, which is available to download for £4.99 from Apple's app store and iTunes, will allow fans to browse the latest club news, upcoming fixtures and results, player profiles, photos and download exclusive team wallpaper.
It was developed by brothers David and Michael Romilly of Dundee mobile applications firm Waracle.
Right-back Sean Dillon said the application would allow fans to get closer to the club. "Now they will be able to get the latest news no matter where they are," he said.
United communications director Derek Robertson said, "The release of the 'Arab app' shows that the club is committed to moving with the times and giving their fans new ways to engage with us.
"We're looking at updating the app with new features so fans will get more over the course of the season."
David Romilly, business development director at Waracle, said, "It's always been a boyhood dream to sit in the United boardroom and talk about contracts.
"I must admit a professional footballer's contract would have been nice, but nevertheless I am absolutely delighted to bring Dundee United to the iPhone.
"The app is a great way to keep up to date with all the latest information and it's also an important step in engaging with a younger demographic of United fans."
