It’s the Christmas present everyone wanted – the triumphant return of Bob Servant to our TV screens.

The second series of the Scottish BAFTA-nominated comedy Bob Servant will be screened BBC One Scotland and BBC Four in December and early January.

The three-episode series will see Brian Cox return as Bob with Jonathan Watson again playing his faithful sidekick and “director of sauces” Frank.

Guest stars for the series – which will see Bob return to the Broughty Ferry burger van business – include This Life actress Daniela Nardini, Absolutely star Moray Hunter and Taggart’s Alex Norton, who returns as Bob’s nemesis Hendo.

Creator of Bob Servant and writer Neil Forsyth said: “I’m absolutely delighted that Bob, Frank and the rest of Broughty Ferry’s finest are about to be thrust once more upon the nation. Bob’s never been more ambitious, and this time it’s rubbed off on wee Frank.

“This is a series about love, friendship and the horrific reality of life on a failing cheeseburger van. So, something for everyone”.

Bob Servant himself refused to comment on the programme’s return.

Neil said: “Unfortunately Bob is refusing to promote the show. He’s currently involved in a legal dispute with the BBC after he claimed three bunnets and a ‘gentleman’s magazine’ went missing from his extension during the filming.

“He was originally claiming for the loss of two magazines but he recently found the other one ‘behind the Betamax’ where, he claims, ‘one of the camera boys must have hidden it’”.
