The programme for Dundee’s biggest ever Science Festival has been unveiled.
The two-week event, which will run from November 1 to 16, is expected to draw thousands of visitors to the City of Discovery, as well as Fife.
The festival, which is now in its fifth year, will host 112 different events twice as many as last year.
Audiences will have the chance to explore everything from the world of forensic science and dementia to the role of optimism in sporting success and the science behind the night sky.
An array of exhibitions has also been lined up at venues across Dundee, including at Dundee Contemporary Arts, Dundee University and the Roseangle Arts Cafe Gallery.
Festivals and development manager Laura Wilkie said: “As Dundee Science Festival enters its fifth year, we are excited to be taking a new direction.
“The festival has a new personality, with a greater choice of events in a wider selection of venues, opening the festival up to an even broader audience, from children and teenagers to the elderly.
“(Whatever your background the festival) will also challenge your pre-conceived perception of what science is,” she added.
As well as taking place in more than 20 different venues throughout Dundee, festival events will branch out well beyond the city centre, with an event called Around the world in 80 teas being held in the Old Course Hotel in St Andrews.
Dundee Science Festival is supported by the Scottish Government, EventScotland, Dundee City Council and Dundee University.
