Early-morning house blaze in Dundee treated as suspicious
ByAndrew Argo
Police are treating as suspicious a blaze at a house in Dundee in the early hours of Sunday.
The fire service was called to the semi-detached dwelling in Clepington Road around 3.30am after a report that smoke was seen at the rear of the property.
They turned up to find three wheelie bins ablaze and were able to quickly extinguish the outbreak.
They then discovered that the occupants of the house were not at home, and there seemed no innocent reason for the heavy plastic bins being on fire.
The police were alerted and later confirmed that they were treating the outbreak as suspicious and were investigating.
Anyone who say anything unusual or possibly connected to the blaze in the area of the Clepington Road/Pitkerro Road junction at the time is asked to contact the police.
Damage was confined to the rear of the house, the building itself being affected by smoke.
