Bryants and Bayohs ‘uniting in solidarity’ to demand Police Scotland changes

Allan Snr, pictured with his missing son, says the two families have shared concerns about Police Scotland.

Relatives of a missing Glenrothes man will join hundreds of campaigners as part of a march calling for justice for Sheku Bayoh.

The uncle of Allan Bryant Jnr will be one of the speakers outside Kirkcaldy Town House on Sunday.

The Bryants were approached by the Bayoh family, who have organised the procession to mark four months since the father-of-two died in circumstances still being investigated by the Police Investigations and Review Commission (PIRC).

The Bryants have been critical of Police Scotland and its investigation into the disappearance of Allan Bryant Jnr, who would now be 24, back in 2013.

Allan’s father, Allan Snr, said the families share similar concerns.

“We believe our families should unite in solidarity and let the people of Scotland know that Police Scotland has failed and is not working as one police force,” he said.

“We are both fighting Police Scotland in different ways but we are both fighting the police for our sons.”

The march is scheduled to start at 2pm.
