Cannabis worth £144,000 found in Kirkcaldy house raid

Police have seized cannabis with a street value of £144,000 following a raid in Kirkcaldy.
Officers stormed a house in Cawdor Crescent, in the Templehall area, on Thursday night after being tipped off by a member of the public.
It is understood that the property was vacant at the time, with police suspecting that only visitors cultivating the crop had access to the building.
Nobody has been charged in relation to the seizure so far, but its scale means it is a huge coup for police.
Sergeant Jimmy Adamson, from the Kirkcaldy community wards policing team, said; “I would like to thank the public who raised concerns about suspicious activity at the house.
“I would also like to encourage the public to report any concerns they have about properties that may be getting used to grow and harvest cannabis.
“There will only be occasional visitors to these houses, windows may be blackened out and there may be a strong smell of cannabis coming from the property.”
