A greengrocer who trusted his customers to serve themselves is selling his honesty shed for charity.
Clem Green is to auction the cabin he stocked each day with fresh fruit and vegetables and donate the proceeds to the RNLI.
His makeshift market became a real talking point in the village while his shop next door was closed for several weeks for refurbishment.
Customers weighed and bagged their own shopping and deposited money in an honesty box.
Mr Green who built the shed because he did not want to let down loyal customers said: “It has served its purpose and the people who used it enjoyed using it.
“There have been a lot of positive vibes about the shed and I want it to end that way so I’m happy to auction it for charity.
“Crail is a coastal village where a lot of people have boats so the RNLI is well supported here.”
Mr Green intends to reopen his High Street South shop on Saturday March 7 and will hold the auction there at noon on Saturday March 14.
