Fife Council says quiet bin lorry claims are not rubbish

Fife Council says their new bin lorries are less noisy for residents.
The local authority has taken a delivery of nine new refuse vehicles fitted with noise reducing technology by local firm Heil.
Cameras have also been fitted to all sides of the vehicles, giving the driver a 360-degree viewing angle as an added safety feature, which makes cyclists and pedestrians easier to see.
The new lorries are also more fuel efficient.
Roddy Mann from the council’s environmental operations said: “These new bin lorries will make a big difference to the service we are providing now and well into the future.
“Some of our older bin lorries were becoming unreliable. With these new vehicles we’ll continue delivering a high standard of service for Fifers.
“An added bonus is these new vehicles use less fuel and produce less noise.”
Kevin Crowder of Heil added: “We are delighted Fife Council is appreciating the cost savings and performance of our vehicles.”
