ByMichael Alexander
The search for missing Newport woman Susan Reid has continued, with the police helicopter again joining in with the search.
Inspector Jim Meek said there had been “no real progress” as searching continued on Thursday in and around Newport.
The helicopter had again been focusing on open ground behind Newport.
A police family liaison officer was continuing to work closely with the family, with access to charities that help families in such situations also being made available.
Leaflet drops had also taken place in Dundee.
Mrs Reid, 56, has not been seen or heard from since Tuesday January 21.
Despite significant efforts in recent days to trace her, the librarian who works for Dundee University remains missing.
Mrs Reid is described as being 5ft 7in, of slim build and having blonde and greying hair.
Inspector Meek again urged any member of the public who has seen her or has any other information to get in touch with police.
