Police have released CCTV images of two men they wish to trace in connection with an armed robbery in Kirkcaldy last week.

Two men armed with a handgun and crowbar threatened staff at the TSB branch on Dunearn Drive on Friday morning before making off with money.

They made their escape using mountain bikes.

A police spokesman said: “Detectives … believe that the two men shown in the CCTV may be able to assist them with their investigation and would ask any members of the public who recognise the men to contact the police.”

One is described as white, in his late 20s or early 30,s with dark stubble on his face. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a dark baseball cap and dark clothing.

The other is described as white, 5ft 9in, around 30 years old, of medium build and with stubble. At the time of this incident, he wore a dark baseball cap, dark blue tracksuit bottoms, dark blue/grey hooded top and dark trainers.

Both were seen riding bikes on Alford Avenue around the time of the incident.

Detective Inspector Colin Robson said: “Today we have released images of the two men who we are very keen to speak with as part of our ongoing investigation into this armed robbery.

“Both men were observed on bicycles on Alford Avenue and I would be interested to hear from anyone who can help us establish their movements or identities. We are continuing to carry out various lines of inquiry in relation to this matter and I would like to thank everyone in the local community who has assisted with our investigation up to this point.”

Local area commander Chief Inspector Stevie Hamilton added: “We are working tirelessly in an effort to trace those responsible as quickly as possible and I urge anyone who can help identify the males shown in the images to come forward. What may seem like trivial piece of information could have a huge impact against the wider context of our investigation.”

Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact Fife CID on 101 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
