A spate of break-ins to commercial premises in St Andrews is under investigation.
Charity shops, cafes and a hair salon have been hit and police reckon the crimes may be linked.
In the latest incidents the Save the Children charity shop, in Greyfriars Garden, and the Charlie Taylor salon, in Market Street, were broken into some time between Saturday and Monday.
A small amount of petty cash was stolen from each.
Local police officers have issued an appeal for anyone who can help trace the culprits to get in touch.
Sergeant Pat Turner said: “In the past few weeks a number of commercial premises have been targeted and we are working alongside the business community to identify any suspects and prevent further incidents from occurring.
“Officers will be contacting all local businesses in the town centre area to provide reassurance and advice on crime prevention and in addition we are keen to hear from any members of the public who have information relevant to our investigation.”
