A teenager rammed his car into his father before driving off at high speed with his victim still clinging on to the bonnet, a court was told.
Kerr McGouldrick zig-zagged around a service station car park in a bid to throw his father James off the bonnet, Perth Sheriff Court heard on Thursday.
As Mr McGouldrick continued to hang on, the 19-year-old headed out of the car park and on to the main road between Kinross and Kincardine Bridge.
The teenager drove for some distance before sharply turning the wheel and slamming on the brakes to finally catapult his father from the Ford Fiesta.
McGouldrick, now 20, from Dunfermline, admitted acting in a culpable and reckless manner by driving dangerously on 18 February this year.
He admitted driving at Mr McGouldrick in the car park at Moto Services near Kinross and forcing him off his feet and on to the bonnet of the Fiesta.
He further admitted continuing to drive round the car park at speed while Mr McGouldrick was spread-eagled across the bonnet and trying to dislodge him by braking sharply. He admitted driving on to the A977 and turning sharply and applying the brakes to bring the vehicle to an abrupt halt, causing his father to lose grip and tumble onto the road.
McGouldrick is still living at his father’s address. Sheriff Kevin Veal deferred the case until next month for reports.
