£500 fine for dad who lashed out after being assaulted at T in the Park

An angry father who was assaulted as he came to the aid of his son at last year’s T in the Park found himself in Perth Sheriff Court.
Disorientated after being punched unconscious by a thief, David Robertson, 42, unwittingly lashed out at paramedics who came to his aid.
He attended at the festival on July 13 after his son had called to say he had been robbed of all his cash.
He spotted someone in the crowd opening an unsuspecting victim’s bag and challenged them, only to be assaulted.
The court was told that Robertson, of Maryfield Place, Bonnyrigg, was unconscious for around 10 minutes.
He accepted that when he woke he was not acting entirely rationally.
Solicitor Jim Eodonable said: “There was no prospect of any of these punches landing and I would accept that this offence is at the lowest end of the spectrum.”
Robertson admitted uttering threats of violence to first aid workers and attempting to punch a Scottish Ambulance Service paramedic.
He was fined £500.
