William Rattray.

Police are making a fresh appeal for information a week on from the disappearance of Perthshire pensioner William Rattray.

The 77-year-old was reporting missing on Tuesday November 1.

Officers will be returning to the areas of Perth and Bridge of Earn this Tuesday evening to ask motorists and the public if they can assist further with their enquiries.

They will be in Tweedsmuir Road in the Letham area of Perth between 7.30pm and 8pm and also in Bridge of Earn between 8pm and 10pm.

William was last seen in the Letham area at around 7.40pm on Tuesday 24 November.

His silver Vauxhall Astra car was later found in Earnbank, Bridge of Earn in the early hours of Wednesday 25 November.

Police are continuing to search the area and the river Earn for any sign of William.

Local officers are also carrying out door-to-door enquiries and reviewing CCTV.

William was wearing black dress trousers, black waist length waterproof jacket and black gloves when he was last seen.

His disappearance is out of character and there is significant concern for William’s welfare.

Inspector Nicky Russell said: “It is now seven days since William was last seen. Officers have carried out extensive searches and are appealing again to anyone who may have any information that could help find William to contact us on 101’.

Anyone who knows where William is or who has information that could assist Tayside Division in tracing him is urged to call 101 or speak to any police officer.
