Screams of “he’s going to kill me” went up in a quiet Perth neighbourhood as a man was stabbed multiple times, neighbours have claimed.

The man seriously injured in the disturbance was named locally as Dale MacDonald or Kirk amid claims he was stabbed “25 times in the face”.

Paramedics rushed him to hospital following the attack in Logie Crescent on Tuesday.

A police spokeswoman said the victim was suffering from “serious injuries”, but refused to elaborate .

Those living near the flat say Mr MacDonald left with blood covering his face.

One neighbour said someone had pulled Mr MacDonald from the property before another man ran off down the street.

The neighbour, who did not want to be identified, said: “I was outside having a cigarette. There was a guy walking along the street. He came into my block and shouted for another man. He then walked across the road and into the house.

“We could hear screams of ‘get him off me’ and ‘he’s going to kill me’.”

The neighbour said another man pulled Mr MacDonald out of the property.

“The man came across and said ‘the b*****d’s stabbed him 25 times in the face’,” he continued.

“Dale was in a mess when they took him to the ambulance.”

Another neighbour said he woke to find his normally quiet street filled with police.

“I woke up and opened the curtains and there was police cars all over the place,” he said. “It’s a bit scary.

“Apparently he (the victim) has been badly cut across the face and was taken to Ninewells hospital, so it must be serious.

“I watched him going to the ambulance and he was clutching a pad to his face.

“Apparently a lad, or a couple of lads, ran down the lane across from the flat.

“As a neighbour he’s pretty quiet.

“He’s been here two-and-a-half years and I’ve never had any bother with him.”

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland confirmed they had attended at Logie Crescent but declined to comment on the nature of the incident.

She said: “We are currently in attendance after reports of a disturbance at Logie Crescent, Perth at 9.20am this morning.

“One man, understood to be in this 30s has suffered serious injuries and has been taken to hospital.

“There is no further information at this time and inquiries are continuing.”
