Family members and a caravan community are coming to terms with the tragic death of a five-year-old girl who had been on holiday in Highland Perthshire.
It is understood the child, whose details have not yet been released by police, had been staying with her aunt at Aberfeldy Caravan Park when emergency services rushed to the scene on Sunday.
The Courier believes the girl had suffered from health difficulties and had to be fed through a tube.
One visitor to the caravan site said that he saw paramedics administer CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) to the girl who was then taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, where she was later declared dead.
Family members said they were too upset to talk about the tragedy when The Courier visited the caravan park with the mood of other visitors sombre.
A Police Scotland Tayside Division spokesperson said: “I can confirm that a five-year-old female has died.
“There are no suspicious circumstances.”
The visitor had been staying at Aberfeldy Caravan Park, and said he became aware something was wrong on Sunday morning.
“Police and ambulance crew arrived here early in the morning,” he told The Courier.
