Stars of the past up for grabs at Morris Leslie vintage vehicles auction

A stunning collection of classic vehicles worth more than £1 million will go under the hammer at Errol Airfield on Saturday.

Morris Leslie are staging the latest of their auctions from 10.30am, with a staggering array of top marques on show.

More than 200 cars, commercial vehicles and tractors will have been sold by close of play, with sellers and buyers hailing from around the world.

Vehicles have arrived from across Europe and even from the USA, such is the growing reputation of the Perthshire auction.

For the first time, the hammer will come down on a car expected to fetch in excess of £100,000, with the Jaguar XK150 DHC probably the star lot.

It is one of four Jaguar XK150 and four E-Types in the catalogue, with the sale gaining a growing reputation for the marque.

Also going under the hammer will be a 1950s and 1960s Austin Healey and a 1930 Austin Seven Ulster, some interesting commercial vehicles from Jowett Bradfords, a 1935 Albion and an array of Triumph, Riley and Morris cars.

There will also be a number of interesting tractors and machinery to appeal to the agricultural market, including a 1947 Series 2 Field Marshall and a David Brown Albion Baler.

“Each auction just seems to get bigger and better so it’s very exciting,” said marketing manager Jonny Bell.

“The XK150 DHC in particular is just beautiful. It’s the first we’ve auctioned that’s been valued in excess of £100,000.

“In fact, it is being stored off-site and will only be delivered to the auction at the very last moment.”
