A Perthshire book festival has managed to attract some top literary names including veteran war reporter Martin Bell and author William McIlvanney.
The Bookmark Blairgowrie, Rattray and The Glens festival doesn’t take place until early October but the programme will be launched next month.
The full line-up will be revealed on June 26 at an event in Blairgowrie Library with Crieff-based author Jess Smith taking centre stage and tickets for the main festival going on sale.
The festival has just acquired charitable status and to help raise funds Perthshire’s first gin festival is being held in The Dalmore, Blairgowrie, on June 13.
The main festival gets under way in The Royal Hotel in Blairgowrie on October 2 when author Janice Galloway will read from her latest book, Jellyfish.
Ticket will be available at Blairgowrie Library, Blairgowrie TIC and at www.bookmarkblair.com.
