With the referendum on Scottish independence looming ever closer, The Courier has decided to investigate the burning issues at the heart of the debate.

Based on analysis carried out for this newspaper, our team examined the Scottish Government’s white paper on independence in an attempt to shed some light on areas often blurred by rhetoric from both sides.

In this special 16-page study produced to mark six months until the September 18 vote, the Electoral Commission provides its guide to the practicalities of the vote, while we also have expert opinion on how the polls are shaping up and look inside both camps.
