Coming up in Friday’s Courier fifty shades of grey and egg pelting

It’s the variety that keeps Alex Rennie interested.

For the last 37 years (that’s quite a lot) he has been painting the Forth Road Bridge.

Grey it may well be. But dull? Never.

There are different coating systems you see. A primer, then the light grey on the edges, then the medium grey and then the finish. Variety is the spice of life and all that.

In other, no less interesting, news we have details of another day on the campaign trail for Jim Murphy. After his eventful day in Tayside, this time he was in Fife where kindly locals greeted him with a gift of eggs (ahem). Rotten stuff (his treatment, not the eggs). We have all the latest.

Meanwhile, we have sad news as squirrels go down with leprosy (or something very much akin to it). Symptoms include inflamed snouts. You have been warned.

Whisky has been blasted into space. Because boffins wanted to see how it reacts at zero gravity. And why the devil not? Actually I can think of a few reasons but you, dear reader, can make up your own mind while or indeed after if you wish to ruminate for a time perusing Friday’s Courier.

These few tales, detailed above, represent but a miniscule proportion of the wonderful stories you can find in your working week ending Courier. Missing it would be a crime (admittedly not one punishable by law). Please do snap up your copy or per chance give our digital edition a whirl.
