Coming up in Saturday’s Courier chocs away

Duh-duh-du-du-du-duh-duh-duh-duh.

That, as if I need to explain, is the X-Factor theme tune.

In Saturday’s Courier we speak to some of the hopefuls who have tried out for the juggernaut of Saturday night television as auditions came to the splendid surroundings of the Wellgate in Dundee.

Cowell wasn’t there himself, but we sent our man Andrew Liddle down to sound out some of those taking part. You can read all about it, read all about it (as Emeli Sande so memorably opined) in Saturday’s Courier.

Now, I’ve been told a million times not to exaggerate, but I don’t think I would be pitching it too strong to suggest our coverage of excitement ahead of next month’s Scottish Cup Final is the best thing since sliced bread (or even earlier for those with a wheat allergy). From special sausages to commemorative T-shirts we have got the lot. And in case you think it’s all tra-la-la-style good news, we also have details of some gripes about ticket prices (pah, some of us would just be happy to have a team in the cup final…).

Chocs away Easter is upon us and Saturday’s Courier has details of all the lovely wholesome activities taking place all over our patch to celebrate the occasion. We also have happy news as, believe it or not, the sun is due to have its hat on. And there are unconfirmed reports it will be coming out to play. Hip-hip-hooray.

Meanwhile, if you like pygmy hedgehogs then boy have we got a treat for you?

Yes.

A tad mysterious I know. I can’t say much more but suffice to say it includes details of a little critter now on the mend after it was so badly treated it got rickets.

What a wonderful weekend awaits our loyal army of readers (not to mention those who may have the unbridled joy of picking up a Courier for the first time). Please do be sure to pick up your copy. Alternatively, if you prefer gazing at newfangled gadgets, why not try our digital edition?
