Coming up in Wednesday’s Courier Locking in love, Scottish style

A MYSTERY couple has unlocked the secret of true love and shown there is no bridge too far for true love.

The pair let’s call them Jim and Paula, since it’s the only names we have for them clipped a padlock to the Forth Road Bridge.

In a scene exactly like those witnessed when romantics descend on Paris’s Pont Des Arts (except with wind, haar, sleet, rain and frozen fingers probably), they locked in their love high above the Firth of Forth.

Theirs is the first lock to be placed on the official sections of the bridge which will be set aside for the purpose.

We’d love to hear from Jim and Paula and, like a lovelorn teenager waiting for a call, we’re hanging by the phone/ email.

If you are Jim or Paula or you know them, get in touch at 01382 575290 or email news@thecourier.co.uk or leave a comment.

If you’re not, read all about it in Wednesday’s Courier.

One of the sites the young (probably) lovebirds may have seen from their vantage point was Longannet Power Station (see, exactly like Paris) about which we have also written.

It’s one of Europe’s Dirty 30 and something should be done about it according to people. More on this in The Courier.

You can also find out why meerkats are far from the cuddly critters you think you’re seeing at the zoo and should actually be treated with extreme caution especially if you’re a young, female meerkat.

We’re all over the Commonwealth Games on the day before the opening ceremony.

And we bring the final instalment of our 3 Degrees series in which we’ve canvassed opinion on the referendum from town’s on the three degree longitude line down the UK and it’s the one you’ve all been waiting for Taunton. Complete with Hot Fuzz references.
