A MAN trapped in his car after a head-on crash on a Perthshire road had to be flown by air ambulance for hospital treatment on Saturday afternoon. The accident on the A85 between Abercairney and Gilmerton happened late on Saturday morning. There were two people in each vehicle and firefighters from Crieff administered first aid before an ambulance arrived at the scene. The man and woman in one of the cars had to be cut free. The man was flown by air ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. He was the only person to sustain serious injuries and is being treated for chest and abdominal injuries. The road was blocked until 1.30 pm when one lane was re-opened. The second re-opened an hour later. |
