A 20-YEAR-OLD Fife man appeared in private before Honorary Sheriff Walter Simpson at Kirkcaldy on Saturday afternoon charged with murder.

Adam Inglis (20), of Julian Road, Glenrothes, is accused of murdering father-of-two John Barclay (58) of Roselea Gardens, Ladybank, at that address on January 2.

Speaking after the private court hearing, depute fiscal Claire Millar said Inglis had made no plea or declaration to the charge.

Represented by solicitor Martin McGuire, he did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody.

The case was fully committed for further examination.
