By Steve Bargeton, political editor THE AA was under fire last night for leaving Scotland’s ocean gateway to Europe off its authoritative ferry route guide. The website planner, described as “your guide to ferry routes to Continental Europe and Ireland,” promotes services between Hull and Zeebrugge but makes no mention of the successful link between Rosyth in Fife and the Belgian port operated by Superfast Ferries. Last night mid-Scotland and Fife MSP Tricia Marwick urged the AA to put Rosyth on their ferry map as quickly as possible. “It is deeply disappointing that an organisation such as the AA do not even show Scotland’s ferry link with Europe,” she said. “I hope they put this right as soon as possible.” A spokesman for the AA said that they would include services to and from Rosyth when the website is updated. He added, “We do not claim the list of routes on the planner is the definitive list of routes, but there is no reason why Rosyth should not be on it.” |
