FIFE POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a child was killed in a collision with a car outside Asda on Dunnikier Way, Kirkcaldy, last night.

The accident happened shortly before 8 pm and police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the tragedy to come forward.

The driver of the vehicle involved was traced at the scene and traffic was diverted while the area was cleared.

Last night police did not release any further details about the boy.
