Mystery over death of police officer

Lochlands Drive in Arbroath where the police officer’s body was found.

MYSTERY SURROUNDS the death of a 34-year-old Tayside Police officer who was found in a flat in Arbroath yesterday.

The man was found at the flat in the town’s Lochlands Drive shortly after 11 am by a friend.

Police officers and colleagues across the force area were last night grieving over the death of the constable, who was understood to work in the city centre of Dundee.

A spokeswoman for the force said last night, “We can confirm that the body of a 34-year-old man was found in a flat in Lochlands Drive shortly after 11 am.

“Police inquiries are continuing to establish the cause of death. A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place in due course and, until such time as we get the findings, it would be wrong to comment any further.”
