Crash victims were Dundee couple

A MAN and woman killed in a road accident in Fife on Sunday were named late last night as young couple Benjamin Horsmann and Kathryn Berg, who had both been living in Dundee.

Cambridgeshire-born Mr Horsmann (28) was a graduate of Abertay University and is understood to have been managing a software company at Dundee’s Technology Park.

Miss Berg was originally from Burntisland and only recently moved to live in a flat in Dundee, where she worked as a contact centre agent for a bank in the city centre.

It is believed the couple had been going out together only for a short time.

They were travelling on the A92 road between Kirkcaldy and Dundee when their Renault Clio was involved in a collision with an articulated lorry just before midnight on Sunday.

The accident happened 150 yards south of the Melville Lodges roundabout near Ladybank.

Two fire and rescue appliances and an emergency tender were called to the crash scene.

However, both victims in the Clio, which had been travelling northwards at the time, died at the scene.

The driver of the lorry was not injured in the accident.

The road was closed for almost seven hours as the scene was examined and diversions were put in place.

Police have appealed for help from the public as they investigate the accident.

They are particularly keen to speak to any witnesses who may have been travelling on the A92 and witnessed the accident, or saw the Renault or the Scania lorry prior to the collision.

Anyone with information should contact the police on 01592 251111.
