THE SOLDIERS of The Black Watch returned to Perth yesterday to continue their recruitment from the local populace. Undeterred by the threat hanging over the regiment, it was business as usual for the recruiting team. Interest remained high, with many folk stopping by to find out about a career in the armed forces. Corporal Paul Thomassen said, “As far as we are concerned we have every chance of surviving. “Interest in the regiment has been excellent and we are just operating as normal “We are here to encourage people to join and let them know that we are going to stay as The Black Watch. “Nothing is changing and we are still going to be recruiting.” After two days in Perth the team moves on to Dundee city centre. |
