A 13-YEAR-OLD Angus secondary school pupil has been interviewed by the police after an incident in which fellow pupils were allegedly poisoned with a chemical. Police confirmed they were called to the school at about 1.30 pm on Wednesday after a report that two pupils had taken ill after consuming a drink containing copper sulphate. A doctor was called and both pupils were taken for treatment at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, where their condition was described as “not serious.” They were later allowed home. An Angus Council spokesperson said, “We can confirm two pupils were taken to hospital on Wednesday after drinking from a can of juice containing copper sulphate. “The pupils were allowed away from hospital the same day. This incident is now being investigated by the police.” A spokesman for Tayside Police said last night that a full report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal. A report will also be submitted to the Children’s Panel. |
