Joy trebled as lucky couple net £107,085

A very happy shopper—Sheena back at Tesco yesterday to celebrate her good fortune.

LOTTERY WINS came in threes for an Angus couple, who yesterday toasted their good fortune in last weekend’s draw.

Sheena and Robin Black returned to the Forfar supermarket where they bought the trio of winning tickets which landed them £107,085.

They were guests of honour at Tesco, where Sheena regularly parts with her pounds as she does her shopping.

“It still hasn’t sunk in yet, even after collecting our cheque,” said Sheena, a council social care officer who looks after older people in Forfar.

She and Robin, a double-glazing surveyor, were watching the draw at home in Lunanhead, on the outskirts of Forfar, when their dreams of riches turned into reality—although not initially.

Robin was first to spot a winner, matching three numbers to notch £10 on his Lucky Dip ticket.

“I was writing down the numbers and thought they looked a bit familiar,” Sheena said. “I checked my ticket five minutes later and saw I had £10 on one line and then five numbers and the bonus ball on another. I had to ask Robin to go over what I was seeing.”

Sheena at first thought she had won between £10,000 and £15,000 and it wasn’t until one of her daughters looked on the internet and phoned her back that she realised her winnings were much, much bigger.

“She phoned and said ‘Mum, are you sitting down, because this is what you’ve won’.”

There followed a nervous hour-and-a-half wait for lottery operators Camelot to call back and confirm their luck.

Sheena is no stranger to lottery windfalls. She collects £10 every four to six weeks and has landed £120 and £96 for four numbers before now.

The couple are planning to spend some of the cash on work to their house and will give something to daughters Lynne and Tracey.
