DUNDEE TEENAGER Lloyd Young has been freed by Raith Rovers at his own request.

The 19-year old midfielder signed from Lochee Harp at the beginning of last year but has failed to establish himself under Gordon Dalziel and doesn’t figure in the manager’s plans.

Young is in talks with a local junior club and is expected to sign for them soon.

Meanwhile, Raith have been hit by an unusual injury blow ahead of tomorrow's home game against table-toppers Falkirk and will be without—club mascot Roary Rover!

The “lion,” alias Laurence Bayliss, requires an operation on a dodgy knee and could be out for the rest of the season.
